Reflection

as i look into this pool

of heaven's tears, i start to see a face

that i have long forgotten in my past,

and then i kneel beside this face,

and look into his eyes,

and find out who i am at last.

They say that tomorrow can build our yesterdays

and no matter what we've done, we still can change,

but as hard as I may try to change my ways,

I can't escape the fact that this is who I am.

as i bid farewell to this,

the only life i've known,

i realize that our lives

reflect decisions that we make,

and then i look behind to catch

a glimpse of who i was

and see the future that it brings toward me in its wake.

Let the water show me my reflection.

Let the water show me who I am.

Let the water mirror my own soul.

Let the water show me...

who i'm to become.

as we reveal our hopes and dreams,

our aspirations for our future,

we reach out our souls

to people whom we've told,

and then i take a final look.

i stare at you, my love,

and know that we will be together

somewhere down the road.
